Event Review: CosmopolitanUK Fashfest Accessories Showcase 2015

FashFest Accessories showcase 2015…

After getting totally lost and being assured I wasn’t the only one who went to a completely different building (Same address I might add) I finally arrived at the venue for the CosmopolitanUK Accessories showcase.

At the entrace, we were greeted by a few lovely ladies who scanned our tickets and gave us drinks tokens and our all-important goodie bag token #HappierBunny.

Next we were given a glass of prosecco and directed upstairs.

Our first stop of the evening was the TED Baker room which was elegantly decorated with flowers, precious stones, trinkets, vases and all things ‘TED Baker’.

 

We decided to join a workshop in making floral headbands but before that we took a look into another room to find a load of pom pom keyrings on a table which we could decorate and keep #Happierstill.

After the pom pom decorating we went back to TED Baker and learnt all about handmade floral head wear. It was really fun and we were quite proud of what we had achieved.

 

We then decided to check out the rest of the rooms and another room with the lovely & super talented Dj KrystalRoxx spinning some serious tunes and gents in bow ties serving Zubrowkauk & apple cocktails. #Yum!

 

We then found some peanut butter cups by EatChic of which we had two they were so good. #YumYum

Next we decided to head down stairs and took a look around all the accessories retailers on display.

 

There was Armani Xchange, Accessorize, Fossil and Lola & Grace, who were really nice and gave all attendees a bracelet with different hashtags.

 

Mine was #Makethemomentsexy….Don’t mind if I do!

Our last stop was what we called the pamper room, we got our nails done by the lovely Metta @ Nails by Mets, gold tattoo transfers and there was even free make overs.

 

 

All in all it was a mid-week night out and the night was topped off with the free goodie bag #VERYHAPPYBUNNY.

 

We hope this event is on again next year, we’ll definitely be there!

Health: Spinach and Cucumber smoothie

 

A friend of mine told me about this smoothie a few years ago and I just could not bring myself to try it as it sounded very.....green and earthy tasting, which was not what I was looking for in a smoothie.

After years of avoiding it, I decided to give it a go since I stopped eating meat and wanted to increase my intake of green vegetables.

At first I had trouble with getting the right texture but I preserved and managed to get the perfect consistency for my taste.

Now!

I am converted, it's not the kind of smoothie you drink for indulgent purposes so do not expect to love it straight away but it's so healthy and pack with goodness, you will be doing your body a favour so GIVE IT A GO! and if you really can't take the taste add a small apple.

So what are the health benefits?

It's super easy and nutritious...simple add a handful of spinach (Organic preferably) and about half a cucumber diced into a blender with one glass of water and drink.

Fashion: End of Summer Lookbook

 

Summer in the UK doesn't typically stick around that long and I for one find it hard to decide what to wear in the mornings.

I try and keep an eye on the weather forecasts but you just never know...As we're in a seasonal transition period (which does seem constant) I decided to create a  casual lookbook which is great for end of summer styling.

Start the look with your choice of loose fitted black top, I have gone for a long sleeve vneck.

I pair this with a pair of Orange straight cut trousers and a killer pair of healed ankle boots in orange and black.

For the accessories, I have gone for a orange beaded hoop drop earrings from the SoBou collection, a chunky curb chain bracelet and a curb chain handbag.

To complete the look I think a simple messy bun, like the amazing Erykah Badu, would look great.

For the make up I'd go for a simple eye liner and nude lip, much like the beautiful Nia Long.

And there you have it...a colourful and comfortable end of summer look :-)
