Fashion: Fedora Hats

The Fedora hat.

The fedora hat is a wide brim, felt fabric mens hat which was typically worn by "gangsters" in the 1920 & 1950's.
Now, the fedora is worn by both men and women in any season.
 Classic, versatile and stylish!

I caught up with the fabulous fashionista Ms Kitty D. She was rocking a fierce grey marl felt fedora from Whistles.com, a loose cream blouse and black jeans.
Love it!

Cool Link: House Of Loulee

*House Of LouLee*

This week I have been on the hunt for some cool boys clothing for my friends son's birthday.
While shopping on the high street I realised two things.
One apparently all boys love animal and trucks, and two all boys seem to love the colour green and blue....
After shopping for over 3hours, I didn't find anything close to what I was looking for.
What I did find was that boys clothing in major high street in London stores are really generic, quite boring and overpriced.
Anyway, I decided to visit some online stores came across 'House Of Loulee' I love their clothing and accessories.

Full of colour, culture and clearly made with love...by the fabulous Lucy Lee.

Definitely one for the stockists list.

Check them out!

Health: Meditation

I am not a religious person but I feel I can relate to a lot of religions lifestyle practises which are good for mental, physical and emotional health and well being.
I recently downloaded a new app 'Buddhist Meditation Training' for my android phone to help me meditate and the darn thing even tells me when to meditate...lool but so far I like it.
Meditation is a lot harder than you would think. Clearing the mind &/or focusing your attention inwards isn't a simple as sitting with your legs crossed saying 'OM'. It's far deeper than I ever imagined but I am so glad I am finally getting into it.

So far, I am able to sit in complete stillness for about 3mins before my mind starts to wonder or my fingers start to twitch because they're so used to being busy but I don't get upset, I acknowledge than my mind has wondered and gently ease my way back to the meditative state I was in.
I also found I was a lot calmer and sleep so much better and I know that over time more and more will improve.
I am definitely hooked!

What Is Meditation?
Meditation is a means of transforming the mind through sounds, images, thoughts, words and/or feelings.
There are various practises in meditation and I feel the best way to achieve the best results for you is to find a method which you like and go with it.

Fashion: Nude In The City Look Book

I've always been style conscious but a recent visit to the City of London really threw me.
As soon as I stepped off the train the amount of Black and Navy suits and ties had me feeling claustrophobic.
Don't get me wrong, if the penguin suit is your thing, then do your thing but me, I couldn't wear a conventional suit to work everyday.
This got me thinking about what I would wear to work in "The City" and decided to plan a Look Book around a gorgeous nude coloured blouse from Miss Selfridge.
I paired the blouse with a pair of plain Berry coloured trousers, printed court shoes and a Berry and Nude coloured bag which pulled all the colours together.
For the accessories I would put away the giant shoulder touching hoops and go for a simple classic beaded hoop and an elegant bracelet.
For the hair I would go for a side pin bun, like the lovely Ms Zoe Saldana
All in all have fun with your looks, nothing worse than being uncomfortable at work or anywhere else for that matter.

Fashion: Winter Ball Look Book Inspired By Morocco By Kitty D

The party season over but let’s reminisce the fancy, the fun and the fashion!
Last party season took me to a winter ball – I oohed and awwwed over what to wear for so long.
So instead of wearing the standard knee high or floor length glitzy gown, I arrived wearing a bright Blue Jumpsuit with Diamanté collar along the  top. There were definitely some beautiful dresses being fashioned but given that I was the only one not in a dress, I attracted a lot of attention.
Jumpsuits can be either cool and casual or fabulous and fancy when dressed up. I purchased my Blue Jumpsuit whilst holidaying in Morocco and found it in a tiny little market stall! They have so many stunning colours and patterns which inspired me to be bold in my colour choices - I teamed it up with bright Green Zara shoes (which I snagged up in the sales), while Party essentials were kept safe in a glitzy Gold Clutch also from the Moroccan markets.
When travelling I always recommend checking out the local markets and finding out about market days! You will always find something special to the area and will have a beautiful reminder of your travels. It maybe some handmade jewellery, colourful scarf… or a jumpsuit! You’ll find different cultures have all sorts of materials and colours for you to explore!

Morocco has lovely beaches, markets, history and culture -  a bit of everything for all the family!
So next time you head out to party – be bold and beautiful and break the mould!

What's On: D'Angelo In Concert

***Feb 20th 2015***
LIVE @ Eventim Apollo.
Tickets from £36.00+BF

Way back in 1995 I wasn't old enough to know what D'Angelo was talking about with his killer lyrics to 'Brown Sugar' and 'Lady' but I didn't care...I was a very loyal D'Angelo fan and I am now old enough to get into his concerts (SWOON!) and really appreciate the man, the artist and that body. Realistically I doubt he still looks like the pic above as I have seen via social media people have been dissing him because he's put on weight...AND!
It has been over 10 years folks...he's now a grown ass man.
He still fine in my book :-)

D'Angelo is about to come back to the UK for his 'Second coming tour' and I for one cannot wait!

"The Second Coming Tour: D'Angelo

The legendary artist D'Angelo has announced The Second Coming Tour, a brand new show sure to introduce audiences to a new side of D'Angelo.
Known for frequently changing his set lists, D'Angelo and his band The Vanguard combine many popular hits with new songs and fresh interpretations of covers. Taking on the role of band leader, singer, guitarist, and keyboardist, D'Angelo surrounds himself with award-winning groups of musicians. This edition of The Vanguard includes bassist Pino Palladino, guitarists Jesse Johnson and Isaiah Sharkey, keyboardist Cleo "Pookie" Sample and drummer John Blackwell.

Despite the increasing popularity of sequencers, auto-tune, backing tracks, and lip synching, D'Angelo and his band The Vanguard perform every note live"
