So if you haven’t heard by now, Team Jamaica’s bobsled team successfully
qualified to compete at this year’s Winter Olympics hosted by Russia, but unfortunately,
found themselves strapped for cash until they made an appeal on their official website for public funding, which ultimately led to online donations and campaign’s
via sites such as Dogecoin and Reddit, raising well over the $80,000 needed to
cover equipment costs and various expenses, in just a matter of days.
I’m so proud that my country will be representing for the Caribbean
next month at Sochi (thanks to the kindness of sports fans the world over) and hope they secure a
medal!
In the meantime though; let’s celebrate the achievement :-)!
