This might seem no big deal or a little far-fetched, but as a girl with chunky calves (but nice and shapely, don't get it twisted) it means so much. I've had ankle and 3/4- length boots before, but they tend to cut you off at the calve, and that's just not cute.
My whole life even when I was much
smaller and as a kid, shopping in Ravels, I could never get boots to fit me, my
calves just weren't having it "Computer said no"!!!
All throughout my life I pretty much avoided boots, I could look at them and be able to tell what was going to fit and what wasn't, even most boots with of the elasticated panels wouldn't fit, and sometimes even Evans boots, and if they did, they were always usually baggy at the foot and ankle and were reinforced looking, something like an elephant boot. No offence to those that shop at Evans (quite clearly I do now too); but as a 27 year old and younger, those shoes were NOT the business, nor the shoes you would like to be seen in by choice.
So at the weekend I went shopping with my Mum, who herself was looking for boots (she doesn't share my predicament) and we decided to go into Evans where I would never usually try the boots on because of the problems I mentioned previously. However the shoes are looking more fashionable in 2014, and although my boots do have the God-awful elastic panel that I hate, it doesn't look bad, and I'm sure everyone knows my calves are chunky anyway.
I had to go down a size to make sure the
shoe and ankle section wasn't baggy, and that seemed to do the trick. This
particular pair are real leather, and are currently £50 down from £95 in store
at Evans.
Don't say I didn't bring you in!!!
