I was pleasantly surprised to read about this on the Guardian website yesterday; Walter Tull: The First Black Officer In The British Army, To Feature On £5 Coin (shout out to Shay for the link!)
I can only hope that Tull's inclusion as a part of this years commemorations, will eventually lead to more commemorative keepsakes, plaques, statues and regular events in honour of all the Black Servicemen and Women who actively participated in both, the First and Second World War's, as Our contributions are too often overlooked and simply ignored...
Regardless though, it is a Beautiful coin and I want one...or a few!
