I first started watching Season 1 of this show 5 weeks ago now and between thick Southern accents, glitzy costumes and in yo' face choreography: I am absolutely hooked!
With each episode even better than the last, 'Bring It' follows female dance troupe The Dancing Dolls and their adorable junior troupe The Baby Dancing Dolls, as they participate in weekly dance battles fiercely led by their no-nonsense coach Dianna Williams. Who aside from creating their stances, also juggles the task of having to put meddling Mama's in check (mostly during rehearsals) which can be more tiresome than dealing with the girls! lol
Aside from the fact 'Bring It' shines a light on a unique branch of our culture being preserved FUBU style (much to my delight), the other thing I appreciate, is that from the gate Miss Dianna has been very open about her past as an adult entertainer (thankfully she is now married raising her precious son) with the camera's, as well as with the girls, and uses the lessons learned from her past mistakes as motivation, while encouraging the little Sistah's to apply focus and discipline in order to utilize their talent, so they don't deter from their paths. Definitely tough love at it's most admirable!
'Bring It' currently airs every Wednesday at 10PM on Lifetime UK.
Be sure to check the Lifetime UK, Facebook page to keep up with schedule information and if you like it as much as I do, I 'm sure you can find missed episodes online.
